When the idea of an esports arena in the heart of Cologne came up I took over the talks for AKRacing to be the official chair provider. Saturn, together with Media Markt, the largest electronics retailer in Germany wanted to transform one of their retail spaces into a gaming and esports heaven. The company worked tirelessly to transform 3000 square meters of space into something, that hasn’t been done before in the country. A place where everyone could get together for playing games, socializing and watching esports tournaments. Guests can enjoy a drink at the Red Bull bar or take your favorite ride for a spin at the sim-racing simulator.

Located right within the city center and in close proximity of the main train station Köln HBF, the Hansa Ring location of the Xperion arena has tradition as well. It was the location of the first ever Saturn market when the company was founded in 1961. Today, two whole floors are filled with gaming stations, racing simulators, streaming stations, and an esports arena. Parts of the lower floor are dedicated to 18+ games and visitors can shoot it out on over 120 dedicated gaming stations while being seated on comfortable AKRacing chairs, cobranded with the Xperion insignias.
